When considering our personal worth and virtue, we must recognize that our worth is intrinsically tied to God, our Creator, who gave us life and created us in His image (Genesis 1:26).
Loving yourself is not at all bad, but loving yourself too intensely is not right and it will not help, people who are self-obsessed are so much In love with themselves that they never able to love and respect others, for them they are everything and no one is better than them, people who are self-obsessed live in... Is loving too hard toxic? The self-love movement claims to provide many benefits. The self-love movement has taken social media by storm in recent years and it seems like every second person is preaching about how all you need to do is love yourself to feel great and make your life rosy, wonderful, and utterly fabulous (yeah, I was guilty of being one of those people! We call for people around the world to rise up with self-love, especially in a society that promotes self-doubt and insecurity. Trying to convince you that no matter how intolerable you are as a person, you still deserve to be loved. Build yourself up without tearing yourself or others down. We instead should be reminded of the example in John 3:30 when he says "He must increase, but I must decrease. " It's a playbook for entitlement and self-absorption and I think that anybody who reads it and implements its advice in any serious way will likely make themselves worse off in the long run. Self-love can be setting healthy boundaries and saying 'no', so others can't use and abuse you, but also knowing that God expects us to walk into those situations willingly, as needed. Modern-day self-love gives uneven importance to self, it's all about you and your problems; your choices and happiness.
